and now, here’s some info about the package…

Crate Digger’s Paradise – 2-Sample-Packs-in-1: Authentic Funk Samples AND Modern Underground Hip Hop

BASSADELIC PRESENTS Crate Digger’s Paradise is a sample pack inspired by the works of Detroit hip hop legend, J Dilla (RIP). Dilla had a HUGE inspiration on me, as well as on countless other musicians. Flying Lotus? Yea, Dilla had a direct influence. All the music in the wonky / downtempo / LA-BEATS scene? Dilla. So I’m super happy to be working on this one, and I’m hoping other folks will enjoy it as well..

What is it, exactly?

Two separate packages:

SIDE A.. The Crates (Crunchy & Vintage Vinyl Funk Samples)
SIDE B.. After the Crates (Modern & Funky Underground Hip Hop)

Who’s it for?

Electronic / hip hop producers who AREN’T fucking around, and want a serious amount of authentic retro vinyl-gold in their breakbeat/funk/hip hop arsenal NOW. If you’re into Flying Lotus, Teebs, J Dilla, George Clinton; or ANY of the middle-ground that exists between funk, hip hop, and wonky, then THIS is something you’ll likely regret not looking into some more.

Basically, you get a virtual but thorough experience of diggin through the crates – first, a pack authentic and ready-to-go vintage funk weapons; NEXT, you get a modern-day hip hop-centered re-envisioning of what those funk-weapons might be used for.. So you’re getting two packages in one…

Here’s what’s on SIDE A: (or, the first folder) As a crate-digger, you have to be tireless in your never-ending quest to find vintage vinyl gold that no one else has. You have to have trained ears, and know what sounds right.

With this package, you get a digital version of the crate-digging experience, as you get a sample package with a ton of samples that REALLY DO sound as though they were cut from CLASSIC funk trax from back in the day, influenced by everyone in the 1970s funk game, from George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic to Sly & The Family Stone .. (a bunch of delicious breakbeats, instrumental improvisations, melodic riffs of instruments that would have been used back in the day, as well as retro synthesized loops that could be employed to recreate the time when funk music got turned on to the electro-funk side of things. It’s funk, it’s funky, it’s got a hell of a lot of soul, and it’s PERFECT for cutting up to make authentic modern-day sample-based music (but with this package, you don’t have to worry about paying royalties to the artists your sampling, because these samples are ALL completely original and royalty-free!)

Here’s what’s on SIDE B: After a well-trained crate-digger has amassed a steady collection of gold, they take it home, listen to it for hours upon hours, and then they cut out the best chunks. Well, this whole package is about having the best chunks ready to go… With Side B you get a bunch of rhythmic weapons designed for Dilla-style and Detroit-style hip hop production… You get a hell of a lot of snares, claps, snaps, kicks, drum loops, as well as some bass one-shots, too!! Some of them are cut from the first sample pack, but the majority of them exist on their own, new and original. They really do sound as authentic as possible, and there is actually nothing on the market quite like this; this “two-sided vinyl-esque” sample package is as singular and special as possible, and it delivers. And instead of paying $40 for one, you get them both at once for WAY cheaper.

Can you just stop talking and give me the goddamn link already?

here you go: Crate Digger’s Paradise .

Can we have a rundown of what’s in this? A track-listing?

TOTAL: 426 MB when uncompressed.

::SIDE A.. The Crates (Crunchy & Vintage Vinyl Funk Samples)

…Instrument Samples
………..including:

…………………. 26 Synth Loops
…………………. 10 Brass Loops
…………………. 9 Flute Loops
…………………. 5 Guitar Loops

…………………. 3 Clavichord Loops
…………………. 4 Misc samples (including ‘Improv on the Keys’)

…Vintage Funk Breaks

AND

::SIDE B.. After the Crates (Modern & Funky Underground Hip Hop)

………..including:

…………………. 60 Claps, Snaps, ‘n Snares
…………………. 84 Kick Drumz
…………………. 8 Bass one-shots
…………………. 18 Dope Breakz

So here’s a preview/demo track of both sections of this sample pack. First, the retro funk sounds; and the second – hip hop breaks…

SIDE A: The Crates (Crunchy & Vintage Vinyl Funk Samples) :

SIDE B.. After the Crates (Modern & Funky Underground Hip Hop)

The buy link? Where the funk is it, StrangeFlow?? Come on!

Here you go: Crate Digger’s Paradise .

SIDENOTE/RANT ABOUT THIS SAMPLE PACK (& OTHERS): Don’t be fooled by the price – I’m not charging less because I don’t think this set of samples isn’t worth much – I’m not charging a metric ton because I simply have no reason to gauge anyone. And, well… that’s it. I’ve seen some well-known sample pack companies charging HUNDREDS for their samples – hoping that the customers are naive and might think, “Wow, HUNDREDS? It must be great!” Don’t fall for that hype. Please. You’re wasting your money. At very least, if you don’t buy this sample package from me, that’s OK – but PLEASE don’t waste your hard-earned HUNDREDS on some “ultra-comprehensive” (but super generic) nonsense EDM sample pack that’s really only going to disappoint. I mean, think about it for a second: how many tracks/albums are you going to have to sell JUST to break even on something that cost you weeks (or months) of salary? ….Just saying…

J Dilla – Inspired Sample Package, a “crate-digger’s wet dream” (all royalty-free!!!)

J Dilla - sample package, by Bassadelic

On this site, I like to make sample packs that, well… sometimes, other audio design studios don’t think of. Like the electro swing package, or that ‘Drumpocalypse,’ one.. Well, this package here is NO exception…..

Coming very soon to Bassadelic.com, it’s a sample pack inspired completely by the works of Detroit hip hop legend, J Dilla (RIP).

Two separate but huge folders:

1. THE CRATES (VINTAGE FUNK)
2. AFTER THE CRATES (FUNKY DILLA-STYLE HIP HOP)

Basically, you get a virtual but thorough experience of diggin through the crates – first, a pack of vintage funk weapons; and second, a modern-day hip hop-centered re-envisioning of what those funk-weapons can be used for.. So you’re getting two packages in one…

Dilla was a genius with music and production- and it wasn’t just that he sampled great records. Some uniformed folks might look at a track of his and say, “Yea, ok, it sounds fucking good – but it’s just samples,” well, could a similar argument be made about the Beatles? “Yea, sure, that little 3 minute song was pretty good, but it’s all just guitars and a couple of singing Brits…” …. Exactly. Dilla went above and beyond, and he was prolific as hell. He dug through the crates like no one else, and put together the most unique, funky, warm, raw, melodic, entertaining AND SATISFYING beats and tunes in hip hop history – period. So what you get in this package is two things: you get a sample package with a ton of samples that REALLY DO sound as though they were cut from CLASSIC funk-trax (a BUUUUNCH of delicious breakbeats, instrumental improvisation, melodic riffs of instruments that could have been used back in the day, as well as retro synthesized loops that could be employed to recreate the time when funk music got turned on to the electro/p-funk side of things) and then you get a second sample package, as well: a bunch of rhythmic weapons designed for Dilla-style and Detroit-style hip hop production… You get a hell of a lot of snares, kicks, drum loops, as well as some bass one-shots, too. Some of them are cut from the first sample pack, and some of them exist on their own.

It’s a real treat for fans of… well, GOOD MUSIC. But especially for fans of Dilla, fans of funk, and folks who REALLY want to get that soulful Detroit-style of breaks and vibes. If you’re new to the game, these can help get you going; if you’re a veteran, then consider this package as a superbly-beneficial and extremely-unique addition to your musical arsenal.

So, as stated, it’s two-packages in one with this thing, #1) retro crate-diggin gold [[funk]] and #2) after-the-crates: hundreds of samples that were cut up and pushed into a hip hop context

Stop fucking with my emotions, StrangeFlow! When is this thing going to be released? Can we get a free copy? What what? What Whaaaat?

This month. In about one week. It needs to sparkle, and that shit takes time. I’ve been working on it for awhile, and as soon as it’s 100% ready and crispy, I’ll hit ya guys up immediately. I wish Dilla was still around, as I would contact him and send him the package, and just hope and wish as hard as possible that he would be down for it. Obviously, this is only a sample package INSPIRED BY J Dilla. He didn’t sign off on any of these samples, nor did anyone representing him. I’m not going to try to make it seem that way, either. I just think he was the best thing to happen to hip hop since Biggie Smalls, and every now and again I get on a real Dilla-kick, where I get so obsessed with his style that it’s all I want to listen to… Well, that’s what inspired this. Dilla was a true motherfucking champion, and this is my way of paying homage.

Oh, and yea, there will definitely be a lot of free downloads as far as this one is concerned. A giveaway is coming up soon, so stay tuned.

Tim Allen + Tyler Perry to release new buddy-comedy, ‘Dubstep Movie’

Posted by StrangeFlow on April 1, 2014
Posted in: Articles, Coming soon!!, Interviews, News. Leave a comment

yea,-a-dubstep-movie-with-tim-allen..

Tim Allen + Tyler Perry to release new buddy-comedy, and here’s the kicker – it’s called (or at least codenamed, at this point), “Dubstep Movie.” ..Yea. Don’t believe it? Verify it yourself here … or HERE.

Famous failure, Tim Allen, has said that he is directing the film as well as starring in it with Tyler Perry; as the two play “a couple of old clubbers,” named “Skruugz and Thumpy,” who, in the film, need to pay off Thumpy’s long-forgotten student loans. They hatch a plan to sell fake-molly at Ultra Music fest. Hijinx ensue (or at least, I’m assuming they do) as the character duo make their money, pay of Thumpy’s bills, and probably learn nothing about themselves – nor become better people – in the process.

TMZ reported that Tyler Perry said in an interview two days ago that, “it’s kind of a fun mixture of humor and reality.. If you liked, ‘Dude Where’s My Car?,’ or any of those ‘Friday’ movies with Ice Cube, you’ll probably this new one we’re doing, because Dubstep Movie is kinda like a mix of ‘Dude’ and ‘Friday’.

dubstep-movie

When asked about the title of the film, Detroit douchebag Tim Allen had this to say: (The following is directly from the TMZ article)

“It’s a new thing, this dubstep stuff. The kids next door have been playing it, and I really want to impress them, and you know, show them that an old man can still rock,” he chuckles, “so we thought we’d do it to it, ya dig? Making music with little laptops and things like that, it’s kind of nuts, and it’s a completely new thing, kids making electronic sounds, I can’t imagine where it’ll be in five years.”

When asked about his favorite DJ’s, though, Tim was expedient to point out: “Oh, no, I’m more an old school kinda guy, music-wise, I’m a Michigan man, so I like my Bob Seger, or the band ‘Yes.’ REALLY into Yes, actually. You know, music with actual instruments, I mean, come on…” He gave his trademarked ‘I’m-a-stupid-coked-out-idiot’ smirk, and then drank some more of whatever was in his stupid fucking cup. And then the interview was over. Seriously.

Tyler Perry and Tim Allen have long been considered Hollywood rivals, for whatever reason – but this film proves, if nothing else, that two opposing forces of Hollywood TITAN-ism can come together and share in an experience that will likely make them millions of dollars.

“I don’t do it for the money,” Tim Allen lied, “I do it because I think this music is relevant, and I’m relevant.”

The film will take place in Denver, Colorado; in a local night club called Cervatez, and the club was quick to point out that it has already announced to the world that scenes for Dubstep Movie will be shot in and around their establishment, which is located on Colfax Road, and is one of the most frequented areas in Denver.

Why Cervantez? Why Colfax?

Tim Allen had this to say: “Well, it’s the main strip, you know? And when people think of comedy, they think of Tim Allen, because I’m the main strip of comedy.”

“I mean, maybe we can make this music into something really big, now. It’s already on it’s way up, but you know, sky’s the limit! Dubstep is a feeling.” Tyler said.

“Couldn’t agree more,” Tim Allen awkwardly jumped in, like a blind ape learning to swim, “Ten four, good buddy. We own the world.”

That’s apparently the catch phrase of the movie, as the rumor mills have been saying that Tim has been going around Hollywood, quoting that part of the film, over and over, “possibly trying to subtly influence the zeitgest in the way that famous failures always have; namely, in a pushy and untactful way.” Said astrophysicist, Neal Degrass Tyson, when asked his view on Dubstep Movie a week ago, during which time Tyson was supposed to have been asked questions for his new remake of Cosmos. Why someone would interrupt an interview like that to talk about Tim Allen is extremely beyond me. Well, I guess that’s what happens when you let the interns run the show.

The two heroes, Perry and Allen, have ALREADY hinted that they are at least thinking about doing several more “EDM-THEMED CINEMA EXPERIENCES,” to quote Tim Allen. Yes, he said the phrase, “EDM-THEMED CINEMA EXPERIENCES,” because he’s a giant douche. I don’t know why, but that’s just the way he is. So get ready for more “EDM-THEMED CINEMA EXPERIENCES,” coming soon. You suck, Tim Allen – but thanks a lot for Dubstep Movie, the world needed it right now.
