What’s up everyone!
Thought I’d do this little tutorial on how to add vocals to a juke beat.
So the addiction to juke (as well the excitement from potentially realizing a vision of seeing jungle do something completely new) has manifested itself in the form of a new record label, and it’s coming very soon!
Dynasty Shit is the name, and juke-jungle hybrids are the aim. There is a huge rhythmic realm that exists between these two similar genres, and with this new label, we’re going to be traversing this uncharted musical territory in some very interesting ways.. With some artists already lined up (and even more clamoring to get involved) it promises to be, at very least, a very unique and fun project.
A: It means, quite simply, I’m probably not going to be doing anything with that anymore. I was originally going to start releasing the jungle/juke or footwork/jungle, or drum’n’booty (…ha, drum’n’booty makes me laugh) material on Bassadelic Records, and there are a few tracks under that name now. But I decided to use this new name, and start over fresh; which shouldn’t be too hard to do, considering Bassadelic Records has only existed for a couple months.
A: Please make sure it fits the format (as in…if you don’t know what juke is, it’s probably not the label for you, just yet) but if you think your music qualifies, we’d love to hear it (!!) and you can submit it to the Dynasty Shit Soundcloud Group, here. This is the Soundcloud group for submitting tunes for the compilation – but – we will OF COURSE be browsing this page when looking for new talent, now and in the future, too. Good luck!! So click that link, or the big ol’ graphic, below:

Juke & Footwork & Jungle & Drum & Bass Hybrids Soundcloud Group – Dynasty Shit! A new label created in the secret Bassadelic labs, somewhere in Northern California…..
As planned, the Dynasty Shit Compilation Vol. 1 release will most likely be free. FREE as in “- LOVE,”…or, FREE as in “FAT – ,” or.. “FAT – LOVE,” or… hmmm… OK, before I go off on some weird tangent about FAT-FREE-LOVE, I’m going to end this post.
So, that’s all the information I can give out for now, but I am really excited about this whole project, and hyped that I was able to get some of the artists signed onto this project that I was able to! So, expect some really fun things in the future!
-Mr. Strange.
Well, this one turned out mean.
I started experimenting with a mixture of acid house and chopped n screw hip hop, and some folks seemed to really enjoy it a lot. So, I kept cracking at it, here and there. In the meantime, some of ol’ dubstep folks have also started doing something similar, acid house mixed with southern hip hop.. Not taking credit, just sayin’ it seems to be something some folks are doing now.. Although, a lot of their stuff leans more heavily on the house side, while some of this StrangeFlow stuff is more on the hip hop side. But, I’m enjoying both angles. Anyway, expect some really fun things to come soon from Bassadelic Records and StrangeFlow…
…Yes, that’s right, Bassadelic mothafunkin’ Records! (:
Got a lot of great ideas behind it, and some really forward thinking/dope sounds planned. Stay tuned for that! I’m really excited about it.
As for this new tune? It’s phased the funk out, tripping with trapping percussion and a vocal sample I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use. I was listening to some old rap tunes, looking for something fun to sample, and as soon as I heard the Missy Elliot tune, I was like, “Ok. I don’t need to look any further, I’m using this. That’s all there is to it.” From there, I built a song around this tune, also sampling old rave synths but arranging them into original melodies. It’s just a fun, angry, psychedlic trap on the StrangeFlow name. Hope you enjoy!
So, neuro hop homie Tex (over at Neurohop Forum) has announced a contest for all electronic producers! (and, well, ESPECIALLY *neuro* producers)
I’m not going to re-write what he already posted, so permit me to be “that blog-douche” and copy+paste what he already took the time to write….
(that’s pretty much what most music blogs do 98% of the time, as is! Ha.)
Hey guys, the first ever Neurohop Forum reese modulation competition is among us.

This is one seriously good sample pack for producing Neuro stuff.

So, it’s finally done! This is my third book (and first non-fiction one, at that) and it is geared, specifically, towards electronic musicians.
Basically, all y’all!
I decided to write this because it seemed that figuring out how to make some well-deserved extra cash from your music or audio production online is not common knowledge, and if you really start asking around, you can find information, here and there, but it can be frustrating because you might keeping bumping into walls.
What do I mean by walls? I mean people who think you’re a sellout if you want to make a living from something you’re passionate about (your music) as opposed to paying the rent from something you don’t really care as much about (your job at McTaco Hell, for example)… I steered clear of this “purist” mentality, because, quite frankly, I’m not rich enough to not have to think about money, and about paying the rent.
So I got to work, and found as many helpful ways as possible (and brainstormed some new ways, as well) that electronic musicians can set themselves up on the right path with their creative passion to be in a position to fund future creative projects. This book also deals with creativity, and getting yourself into an organized mental space where you know what you want to accomplish, and have the huge amount of ambition to see it through.
This book is 83 pages, and written entirely by StrangeFlow, 2013. It comes in a zip package that contains the ebook in a variety of file formats: RTF, MOBI, EPUB, and TXT.
This book was written specifically with the electronic musician in mind, though many of these techniques can be applied to a variety of creative areas. Read on for more details, and for a free portion of the introduction chapter…
Learn how to combine Lifestyle Design with Culture Jamming, learn to “greyhack” (a form of niche-hacking) your music career, and establish self-sustained income-generating machine to feel like a super-ambitious and all-around champion while doing it. This is NOT a get rich quick book.
Culture Jamming, Greyhacking your music career, and establishing self-sustained income-generating machines to feel like a super-ambitious and all-around champion while doing it.
There are so many books out there about the music industry, and a lot of them seem to focus on ‘getting signed,’ ‘selling CDs, MP3s, and t-shirts,’ ‘how to get gigs,’ etc. Ok, but what else? Half the time, these books are geared specifically for rock bands and pop groups. But, I’m not in a rock band, I make electronic music. Really weird, underground electronic music. Is there any hope for folks like me? Do I have to choose between making music I love and making money?
Passive income generation for electronic musicians and producers is one of the main focuses of this book, and I want to share some techniques for setting up some income streams for creative individuals like you and me.
With the modern electronic musician in mind, I provide dozens of examples of this, as well as provide workable examples on how to greyhack (a term I use to describe the process of finding a creative niche in between two pre-existing artistic contexts) and tap it for all it’s worth to set up an automated income flow to fund your future musical endeavors. This is NOT a get-rich-quick book, but there is a lot of practical help in here that can really help if you’re looking to make money as an electronic music.
