What’s up! A new month is here! Finally, another full-length month (I always am uneccessarily irritated by months with less than 31 days..) and that means it’s time for a bunch of brand new content from Bassadelic dot com.
Lots of exciting things have been going on here, and I’ve been getting up to a lot of projects lately.
The Dynasty Shit label is about to have it’s first AND SECOND release, very soon! Look out for some incredible footwork-jungle material. VERY soon!!! The first release is either going to be the Dynasty Shit Compilation, with a variety of fine musicians, or an EP by 5ifty$ix K, with an old modem’s worth of delicious beats!
Also, some good tutorials are planned – and a new sample pack is going to come out this month. What is it? Ooooh, you’ll see – but I’ll tell you one thing, it will be a sample pack to complete the trap-pack trilogy initiated a few months back.
Also, started a new forum for juke producers and fans. Very excited about that, as there are already a lot of very good people over there, chatting it up and offering some high-quality music for everyone! Should continue to be a blast!
There’s also an interview with KidLib coming out in the next couple of days. I’ve planned some real fun stuff for Bassadelic this month, and I hope you enjoy consuming it and learning from it as much as I enjoyed creating it :)
Alright, well that’s it for now. Thanks for reading.. Now, for no reason at all, I will leave you with this image of a woman with StrangeFlow records on her boobs…
The original ‘StrangeFlow’s Authentic Electro Swing Samples’ turned out to be the most popular thing on this site (with the possible exception of the trap samples) and I decided I wanted to make another package. This new ‘electro swing’ package is even better than the first, in my personal opinion. But unlike an episode of Mad Men, you don’t have to know what happened in the first to enjoy the second one in this series! This second one is my favorite :)
These are some vintage electro swing samples for you, from the sample series that has, in effect, defined what this site is about, to many people. More than I initially realized, to be honest. And this package here? Well, it’s “even more vintage-er” then the first! Why, you may ask? Well, for one thing, while there are definitely some classic big band jazz and swing tunes on here, and some hot artists like Paul Whiteman or Fanny Brice, there are also some real rarities that many fellow electro swing – loving crate-diggers just DO NOT HAVE in their collections. And for another thing, all of these samples are from the mid-1920s or earlier, the ‘Golden Era of Jazz,’ as it were!
These are not recreations or sound-alikes, these are real jazz samples, in some cases remixed a bit around the edges, here and there, to make them more club-ready, and dancefloor-accessible.
Here’s a demo track made entirely with samples from this package:
So, if it’s authentic swing music you’re after, look no further, you’ve found the most vintage samples IN EXISTENCE. There are no other products ON THE MARKET like ‘StrangeFlow’s Authentic Electro Swing Samples.’
All of these samples are copyright-expired and royalty-free, so you can do anything you want with em, privately or commercially (you just can’t re-sell this product ;)
So, since electro swing is a mixture of some cutting-edge electronic dance beats fused with old-time jazz music – this pack contains both modern beats, as well as older jazz sounds that were left intact – however, all of these samples have been cut and sequenced so that they are ready for remixing/original music composition in any of a number of modern dance styles, such as house, hip hop, techno, moombah, dubstep, electro, complextro, and trap, just to name a few.
Some of them – well, MANY of them, in fact – have been edited, here and there, modernizing them in a cutting edge way for the dancefloors and swing parties that are taking place ALL ACROSS THE WORLD right now, from Paris to New York to New Delhi! The tempo has been listed in the file names of each sample, as well as the artist and song names sampled, where applicable.
In addition, we thought we’d drop a special gift on this release: a BONUS sample package – 150 Moombah beats. If you’re a fan of modern house music, you’ll probably know that moombah has ALSO been killing dancefloors lately! So, if thats a sound you are interested in, then youre in luck.
What else? We’ve included 17 different jazzy vocal samples to mix into your tunes! From Fanny Brice to Marion Harris and Bert Williams, these vocal samples are a lot of fun to mix into the groove.
Ah, yes, and in addition to this, we’ve added 30 funky snares. We’ve provided as many audio tools as possible to get you started and have fun making the swanginest songs on the scene!
All of these files are in .WAV format, the most widely-accepted audio format.
So, below is what’s included, in total, in this package:
– 61 swing music samples/loops
– 15 modern swing beats
– 17 swing music vocal samples
– 4 FX sounds: authentic vinyl audio to mix into your tunes
– free gift # 1: 150 moombah beats
– free gift # 2: 30 funky snares
This sample package contains royalty-free / copyright-expired / completely legal to use samples from the following artists:

So how much is this gem of a jam of an authentic electro swing samples pack?
I got an email the other day, apparently someone figured out this site’s creator (me) is a HUGE fan of jungle/juke hybrids. So, I was given this awesome mix, which I’ve posted below. It’s called PREHAB, with Retox & the Colonel in the mix! An MC spicing up some incredibly forward-thinking beats. Well, they both definitely gained a new fan, that day, that’s for damn sure. And, If you haven’t heard of these guys yet, I’m sure you’ll be a fan, too, after hearing this mix. So mark this in JUKE / JUNGLE : they give away a FREE DOWNLOAD of the ENTIRE HOUR-LONG MIX!!!! Hard to beat that.
Big ups to the guys for emailing me this mix, I get a lot of random emails from folks who want me to hear or review their music, and sometimes it’s good, sometimes… it’s not so good… but THiS? THiS is a really fun mix, and if you’re into either fast breaks n 808s, you’ll love it.

An-Ten-Nae Spills Some Acid For a New EP! The release is called, ‘Raindrops on Roses Remix EP,’ and it’s a fun little release, to be certain. I checked it out on iTunes a little while ago, and though I’m a fan of his Acid Crunk series more than anything else, these tunes on ‘Raindrops’ are also fun. Ooah (of Glitch Mob fame) joins up for a remix of the ‘Raindrops’ tune, too.
There is a high pitched rap in the beginning of ‘Raindrops’ (not sure if it’s male or female, as it’s pitched-up so much, but it sounds female) and although it’s very off-putting in a certain way (each vocal bar is done within a single monotone) I feel like there’s something very confident about the repetition of it… (reminds me of kind of the same thing done with trap music – how you hear the same 808 snares over and over, and yet there’s something entrancing about it.. But I won’t go on too much of a tangent about that right now)
So basically, it’s a four-track EP and if you’ve enjoyed An-Ten-Nae in the past this is something you should definitely check out.
‘Acid Spill,’ the fourth track, is by far, my favorite on the EP. There are references to acid in the lyrics of roses, but with ‘Acid Spill,’ we get a full on acid house / TB-303 session! Of course, it’s not strictly old school, it’s mixed in with An-Ten-Nae’s trademark West Coast crunkification; so you know it’s going to be interesting and modern.
I’ve been hearing more and more acid mixed with hip hop lately, and I gotta say, I’m enjoying it. It’s full circle in more than one way, and I’m excited to see that electronic music is not showing signs of growing stale right now.
I didn’t believe it either. I was like, “no, that’s stupid, that’s nonsense.” But…then I heard the tracks, and I was like, “Oh, my goodness.. Maybe that guy from Double Dare DID make some bizarrely-awesome glitch hop tunes and somehow take over the Billboard Charts.
And when I say, ‘take over’ the Billboard Charts, I mean he has two songs in the top ten – “I Double Dare You to Bass,” and, “Butts, Butts, Butts!” (which features a LOT of Scarlett Johanson… (like, A LOT of her…..)
Don’t believe me? Fine, nonbeliever, click here and see for yourself: here.
DJ/MC Mark Summers – as in – yes, he raps AND DJs – has had a lot to say about his newfound success in the music world, and is ambivalent about the fact that he now has more groupies than ten Van Halens, saying, “I don’t gives no fucks, why the shit should I? I’m all ’bout that fuckin paper. Hell, maybe I’ll be the muh’fugga to bring the word HOLLA back. Watchu think?”
Well, DJ/MC Mark Summers, if anyone can do it, it’s probably you.
His new gangsta glitch hop track, “Swangin’ Tang,” is really something, rhythmically. It starts as a dodgy-sounding trap beat, but then unfolds into some kind of insane, swung-out, wonky (but professional-sounding) glitch hop gem of a jam – catchy as hell, and haunting. Just haunting.
“Yea, you know, I’m all bout that shit. I told yah bitches I ran that fuckin’ trap into the ground. I ended that shit,” Mark said. “Now it’s all bout the Mark Summer shit, ya knowadamean? Chains, booty, bass, and maybe some LSD, if there’s time, I don’t know.. We’ll see.”
Despite his straight to the point verbosity, Mark Summer’s music is anything but blunt – it’s actually some of the most complex, layered music that has ever touched the Billboard Charts, sans the Beatles.
Aphex Twin chimed in, “Yea I don’t know. He’s insane. He makes my music sound like garbage.”
“Swangin’ Tang” premeired on Youtube about two weeks ago, and was promptly taken offline twenty minutes later, despite the fact that it had almost one hundred MILLION views in that time – a world record, to say the least. But, the video was a little… risque for Youtube…
“It made the Dallas 500 look like fuckin Church!” Mark Summers chimed in.
Lil Wayne reportedly tried to contact him to go on tour, but Mark turned him down immediately, saying, “Wayne? That bitch fell off years ago, I ain’t touring with no punk ass.” A statement that would, ordinarily, ignite a vicious beef in the rap world, but Lil Wayne accepted it at once, saying, “I understand, mothafucka redefined ‘trill,’ by mistake, I can’t fuck with that, and I accept this.”
Mark Summers Mania is a phenomenon that has sprung up, literally, over the course of two or three weeks. He defies all conventional formulas for success, and he intends to keep it that way.
“Yeee-uuuhhh, Son. You know what I’m bout! I keeps it wonky for life, Son,” Summers said, in an interview with TIME, “I’m all bout that fuckin’ paper. Billboards is my new home, I moved in, and I ain’t fuckin’ leaving, you heard me? Now get out of my goddamn house.”
Noted.
Many don’t believe it when they first hear it.. So, here is another one of my sources to check out.
