Just came out with this one… New Orleans bounce samples.. The problem? Up until now, most bounce songs are based on copyrighted beats… So… If you wanna sell your track(s) (or if a mainstream bounce musician – typically from Louisiana or somewhere geographically close, already sold their tracks) – it’s a lot of money, depending on a lot of different factors involving copyright law. And I’m not the first to say it, and I KNOW I won’t be the last, but let me just make it clear: IMO, copyright law is a real bitch. Sure, an artist wants to get paid, but sampling something from fifty years ago SHOULD be acceptable. It’s usually not. Sampling something from 1991? 1992? 1993? Very illegal. Unless you clear the samples – but that’s half the problem – there are different TIERS of payment depending on how many units you want to sell. What the fuck. Can’t it just be, “If you’re getting rich, making millions, pay up, if not, well, give us 5%, or something,” ???
Well.. it’s not, unfortunately. And until Disney collapses (which won’t happen – and ESPECIALLY will never happen since they own Star Wars now) we’re going to have to deal with copyright. I’m ok with an artist making money, but some copyright laws are just fucking stupid… You gotta pay royalties on a song until 70 years AFTER the artist dies? Seriously? CALL ME CRAZY but that shit’s stupid. You’re great grand kids live off your music? Awww… fuck it. At least on bandcamp you can get away with pretty much anything.. Well, almost, unless you get snitched on, I suppose. (SHHH! Let’s keep it that way! It’s one of the last bastions! Especially since soundcloud is getting fucky.)
If you want any kind of info, go to Wikipedia and look up copyright law… then look up copyright law in context of clearing samples from your music… It varies from country to country with copyright law, making it REALLLLLLY ridculous…
Why am I ranting about all this shit??? Here’s why – New Orelans bounce samples. NOW, FREE OF COPYRIGHT. That’s fucking right. Sample to your heart’s fucking delight. Make them bounce tracks!!! Make sissy bounce! Make hardcore footwork bounce! Make death-bounce! …. (…..”death bounce” is not a real genre… but… hmm… it COULD be… anyone here makes a “death bounce song, I promise to post it… unless it’s snuff, or something..)
Anyway, enough of my bullshit rant about legal shit, here’s that preview I promised:
(And yes, the visuals are slightly pixelated.. the beats and loops? golden…and on sale)
ALSO: if you liked that, or are curious about it, there’s a sale on this bounce pack. I predicted bounce and twerkin’ trax would blow up years ago, and it turns out, I was right. I kept my ear to the streets better than DRE (who kept his ears to his interns, who likely “discovered,” Snoop and Eminem… But anyway. This isn’t about my rant about Dr. Dre being a fake-ass “perfectionist,” that takes 1,000 years to produce a dozen or whatever tracks… this is ABOUT THAT BOUNCE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here’s some info on the FULL pack. Samples ALL royalty-free and golden. Longer loops, too. 100-200 bpm, and 19 seconds long, WAV format, perfectly and seemlessly loopable..
SEEEECREEEET DISCOUNT: Type StrangeFlow50 in the “voucher” tab on the sell page to get a fucking LARRRRGE discount. Probably too large, honestly… And if it doesn’t work… Take out the caps… Maybe it’s “Strangflow50” or just “strangeflow50” … But… it should work.
Anyway! There y’all go!
A lot of good samples in that pack. I don’t wanna toot my own horn but… uh.. *toot* …
Again, that link for the samples in full : Heeere!
Happy mixin’ !!!!
It’s time for some awesome old school (and new school) rave shit. Get ready.
GLOWKiD’s Gen X Show features guests, hardcore, jungle, old school, new school, breaks, straight up PLUR-era mixes. (I shouldn’t say PLUR-era, as I want to ‘KEEP THAT PLUR ALIVE,’ so I’ll just say it’s definitely got the old school spirit, plurred out (
not a word or phrase) as fuck! Real rave style.
BTW , mixcloud embeds all funny (bad-funny) so scroll down to get the mixes after you hear each one. Thanks!)
There are lots of other mixes but i figure once you click on one you can find em all, there’s tons of mixes here!
So it’s awesome raging out to big bass trax, but what about afterwards when you’re like, “Oh my god, that was great but now I need to just chill…,” what then?
Here – Will Herwig from his youtube page has got you covered. It even opens with the best Flying Lotus track ever (IMO, anyway) and the whole thing is just a stone cold slow-down-groove-mix…. Stuff that might’ve been called wonky (I would’ve called a lot of it that, a few years ago) but it’s so slowed and chilled, I don’t know.. Anyway, whatever the hell it’s called, it’s chill, it’s got mellow breaks and nice ambience, and it’s great for chilling out or even falling asleep, if so desired::::: (and if you look below the video, there’s a dl link that the dude put up, too. Thank, Wil Herwig, you masterful motherfucker!)
Here you go, have it on your phone or wherever: http://dl.soundowl.com/4qhn.mp3
Hey hey, the dude also has a mix of XXYYXX. If you haven’t heard of XXYYXX by now, here:
Yes, the Bassadelic mixtape series returns! And this one is a really fun mixtape, to be certain!
I’ve been talking with Kid Lib lately (and get ready for an interview with this INSANELY prolific jungle/juke dude!) and he was kind enough to drop a mixtape on us, here at Bassadelic. It’s the Smokin Trees Mixtape. I know 4/20 was a few days ago, but this mix transcends any smoker’s holiday, so I didn’t feel the need to post it only for that occasion. I’ve listened to this one at least ten times. It’s a high impact footwork jungle gem-of-a-jam of a mixtape, and I’m extremely excited to post it here.
I’m also trying to get Kid Lib in on the new Dynasty Shit, for a track on the new compilation. It’s a jungle juke label started by StrangeFlow / Bassadelic, specializing in jukey/footwork mixed with jungle/dnb sounds. I’m very excited about that. And I’m hoping I can convince the Kid Lib to join up for at least one or two grooves, because his stuff is really something. But, we’ll have to see.
Anyway, without further ado, he was kind enough and awesome enough to drop this special tape on us, and I have to share it!! Click the image above, or click here.

Yes, it’s true. KOAN Sound snares are available. Finally, no more scouring forums. I think the thread title, “How do You Sound Like KOAN?” is probably the most actively searched for topic of the last year, second only to the forum threads from a couple years ago, with the request: “How do I make dubstep wobbles? Help!” etc…
Well, any who, click the link below and snatch ’em up. They’re pretty good. Five deliciously thick KOAN snares. I wish I could take credit for ’em, but honestly, I saw a link for ’em from iLL Gates. I’m guessing they’re an official leak though, from the KOAN bro’s, themselves. At any rate, here they are: http://www.mediafire.com/?zo8wp6vureipiin
UPDATE!! This giveaway is now over, but you are welcome to consider the buying the sample pack, it’s on sale for a limited time!
Yes, a new sample package is coming out today from Bassadelic, and it includes tons of great trap samples! Scroll down a little bit to get the details! :)
So how’s this work?
Well, the first ten comments on this page (don’t forget to leave your email) will get a free copy of this product. Please give me up to a day to deliver the samples (it probably won’t take that long, but I want to have that 24 hour grace period in case my house burns down or something.. lol)
Ooooh Snippity Snap! 500 all-original trap music melodic synth samples, including over 70 bass samples, almost 50 melody loops, there’s tons of trumpets & trombones, as well as tons of modern EDM high pitched synth notes that you’ve come to expect from trap music today. This package provides the best possible value for producers hoping to get involved in the exciting world of trap music.
This production package was desgined for producers trying to get synth melodies for their tunes – and especially producers who are influenced or inspired by popular trap artists such as Flosstradamus, Baauer, UZ, TI, Wacka Flacka, and many other artists from both the Dirty South as well as the outta’ town rave.
So here’s what’s inside:
– 72 Bass Samples!
– 48 Melody Loops!
– 384 Synth Samples!
– including: trombones, trumpets (sustains and stabz) wobbles, saws, buzzers, beeps, wonky and rave sounds to fuse the middle ground between EDM and dirty south trap hip hop music with these helpful sounds.
Many of these samples (the one-shots) come in scales (with each of 12 notes labeled correctly) to give flexibility to the producer who wants WAV files, but wants to make sure to keep things in key during mixdown, which is obviously very important when layering sounds together and making full tracks and songs properly in the studio.
So, altogether you get 500 premier sounds — actually, the final count was 504, but I decided NOT to delete the last 4.. I mean, would you? (;
